EERSTE HELMERSSTRAAT

We have completed a second complex new basement layer under a row of 4 inner city houses in Helmersstraat in central Amsterdam.

We combined foundation renewal with the provision of an entirely new floor under ground level with a variety of connections to the private gardens at the back.

The extension of the new lower floors into the garden area creates a variety of double height courtyards / raised terraces with new unique connections to the private gardens at the back.

Natural light flows into the lower levels through a variety of new openings and pavement windows and the renovation of the upper levels of the dwellings gives each house a new lifespan.
