FROM FIELD TO TABLE – the studio subject with Jo at the Academie van Bouwkunst last semester (2022) took on designing with second use materials.

The students (from l to r) Dion Bruijn, Phuong Dao, Iris de Mooij, Tsukasa Nakatani, Fabia Sainz Fernandez , and Rytis Budavicius, each designed a variety of amazing community kitchens and dining halls. The site we used occupies a particularly contest area of ground, in the peri-urban district of Lutkemeerpolder, at the edge of Amsterdam.   

The studio was complimented by research into the salvage of architectural components for second use, directed by Karlijn Besse and StefanieTseggai of Other Spheres.
