VSO De Heldring in 2022
It is always lovely to revisit old projects and see how the surroundings have matured to match and enhance the building.
This summer, it has been especially nice to see the blossoming of the garden of VSO De Heldring School, in Amsterdam Nieuw-West, an area originally planned in the 1950’s on the garden city concept.
The garden that now surrounds the building, has been lovingly planted, nurtured and cared for by the users, over the last few years, since occupation.
As we move into colder weather, images of those sunny days inspire us to create buildings that play well with their surroundings, and where the immediate context evolves during the seasons beautifully, along side the building in use.
