SCHOOL STUDIES

In the search for new options and solutions, we are often asked to carry out studies for schools, to help clients decision making about how to proceed on a project

Challenges are varied, from tackling a particularly restricted site, with difficult programme combinations, to extending the sensory experience for children with special needs while also improving circulation in an existing school.

At all times we push to look for pioneering sustainable solutions that will also improve wellbeing and the environment generally. These challenges provoke us into achieving surprising results. Sometimes these projects do not go forward but it is always an opportunity to test out ideas that could become more relevant on a future project.

As public buildings, schools in their life time, serve a very large amount of the public. Increasingly schools are models of sustainability and nature integration, offering even more opportunities for the surrounding communities to make use of their facilities outside of traditional school hours. We see schools as one of the most important assets in the public realm and of immense value.
