An old loft space was adapted into a family home. Most accommodation is on one level with access to an extra office space and roof terrace above. A simple curved wall was inserted on the main floor, that moves in a slow arch from one end of the flat – the bedroom, (the most intimate), to the other – the lounge (the most public). The wall creates an entry area and hidden service rooms as well as a clean separation from the existing clumsy subdivision to the adjoining apartment. Each of these hidden rooms are accessed by special jib doors finished in the same highly decorative wallpaper of red flock and gold.
